Nannie Kasee: Phoenix isn't the best when it comes to public transportation - it's too sprawling - but you can get pretty close to the Desert Botanical Garden using light rail to Tempe and taking a cab from there. Also, the Rossum House is in Heritage Square, a short stroll from the light rail downtown, and the Phoenix Art Museum and Heard Museum are on the light rail. If you take the rail to Central and Camelback you can transfer to a bus to go east on Camelback to the mountain as well. So it can be done - it's just a little challenging at this point....Show more
