Mayola Sylva: Use the usb for the optical drive, the optical drive will be slower than the USB data transfer rate, but the hard drives will be much faster than the usb cables.You can still boot from a usb optical drive, it usually just takes a few settings changes in your BIOS.I got tired of replacing DVD drives on my computers so I just got an external usb one and use it on all of them....Show more
