Television: How do YOU feel about it?

Marcia Cheathan: Rules in our house ...- No TV in kids bedrooms.- Parental controls on every channel and rating.I think it is a great tool and can be used educationally, but there is also plenty of junk. We use parental controls to filter the good from the bad.Be careful what you put into your mind, because you can't take it back out. Like most things in life, we all need to excercise self-control and guard your mind from negative.....Show more

Marielle Hedeiros: expensive, collectively as I appreciate that that's the "homework help" class, you have merely asked us to place in writing your finished paper for you. i will stop in need of that and allow you be attentive to my favorite "charged" commercial, and enable you to paintings out the small print: there's a Bud gentle commercial which you would be able to easily see on the internet web site, as television does not play it. a guy is hiding under the bar (at a pub) and the bartender blunders his ***hollow for th! e bottle opener, lots to the guy's misery. that's extremely humorous, and collectively as that's nowhere close to erotica, it does use a "sexual section" to sell its product. look up the business, it became into meant to air on the final superbowl....Show more

Guy Bonamico: I think that it can be a good thing and it can be a bad thing. If there were not any televisoin, there might be less pepole getting welfar checks. Its a good thing because some channels teach kids things when the mother/father cant teach them

Leora Klingelhoets: I've lived without it and didn't miss it at the time. These days, I wonder if I could do that again.

Theresia Fashaw: I don't know.

Bryant Pillitteri: I love not owning a television. One of my favorite parts about getting my own apartment when I was 18 was the fact that I would not be brining a TV. My life is so much balanced without the media trying to influence how I think, feel, and act. Some shows could be entertaini! ng, and it was nice to get information from channels like Trav! el, Discovery, History, Weather, etc. But my main annoyance was commercials. I live in a big city where I see advertisements everywhere: on the sides of buildings, in the trains, on the cabs, etc. The last place I want to see an ad is in my own home. There is no need to let the media into your personal life, and you certainly shouldn't let them try to instill artificial needs, which is what most ads attempt to do. I don't want an iPod, a new perfume, or a McDonalds burger, and I don't want to be told I want one. I am extremely happy without those products and I refuse to be told that they are going to improve the quality of my life -- I know better.Hey America! We don't have to watch shows with degrading comedy or live vicariously through reality show drama. We also don't have to be constant consumers, and we shouldn't be raising our children to become that way either. Turn off the TV and tell your kid to have some fun. And guess what? This might mean you have to! actually spend some time with them. Because we all know parents turn on the tube because they don't want to deal with their child or are 'too busy'. Give me a break. Spend some time with your kid and get to actually know them. They will end up being more intelligent and happy when you actually interact with them and show that you care. There is nothing on TV that you couldn't get somewhere else: read them a book, play a boardgame, or maybe even get them to use their imagination! There is still hope!Take care of your bare neccesities and then spend your time having fun. Get out and actually live life instead of watching people faking it on a digital screen....Show more

Emery Blando: With out it, modern people would probably go insane.

Providencia Jalbert: I personally am a big Television watcher. Though, some of the things my father and friends watch disgust me. Some of it is a negative influence on younger children, and even teenagers. But I admit there ! are many good channels that are educational for toddlers, and ones that! are not completely innapropriate, but are better for older children.

Lissette Semon: I love TV. I take it with the good and the bad. but i do think i waste a lot of time
