SM Entertainment Audition ?

Dedra Furguson: 1

Anton Waln: 1.) It's not bad, but SM does prefer Koreans first and Chinese second over any other race.2.) Yes. Dancing is not required, but SM is a company that prefers dancers so it is wise to include a short clip if you dancing at the very least. You can sing in a different language if you want.3.) They will either ask you for more clips or invite you to a live audition. When inviting, you will either get a generic, come to a Global/Youth Star Audition or you will a personalized invite asking you to arrange a time when you can come to Seoul or LA.If you audition in Seoul, you'll go to everysing and audition there. You'll be given a sheet to fill out with your basic info, Then with a handful of others you'll be lead in to audition. You'll go one by one.If they like you, they'll hold you back or ask you to sing again.http://auditionadviceandthoughts.blogspot.com/2013...4.) Yep!!!5.) No. The company does not pay for any expenses until you ! have signed on to become a trainee, which would easily cost you one-three or more trips to Korea :/ This dream will be expensive.6.) No. The judges want you to be as natural as possible (slightly ironic but it's just the way of things...). Unless you have a skin condition or burn that you're trying to lighten, do not wear any makeup.7.) I would suggest not posting photos of yourself asking about looks in terms of SM Entertainment. If you are selected, the do do Internet searches on you and your known email address like any other good company.8.) No. Right now, they use it as a tool to reach out to the international community and find talented individuals they can encourage to audition live. They normally pick people through live auditions or scouting.9.) You'll train in Korea where all their resources are. You'll live in a dorm with other trainees.10.) Amber, Zhoumi, Henry, Zhang Liyin, Victoria, Kris, Lay, and Tao didn't know Korean when they joined. The compan! y will teach you and make sure you are conversationally fluent! before you debut. You will attend school as education is very important to Koreans.11.) Yes and no. Depending of their level of like, you will either be encouraged to join the Global Auditions (which Korea might not be the closest live audition) or be asked to arrange a time to audition in Korea (it might be private or it would be a normal Weekly audition).12.) Yes. SM gives trainees a few weeks a year to go home that they pay for your plane ticket13.) About 20 USD a week.14.) No. If they determine you are a good size, they won't bother you with diets until you're getting ready to debut. They might suggest a diet plan (not the lose weight kind but the eat healthy kind) but you wouldn't have to follow it unless you started packing on the pounds. As for plastic surgery, they won't force you to get any. The public now demands "real" idols and don't seem to want plastic idols. They might suggest it ,but they won't force you to get it. While this is great news for trai! nees, there's a flip side. Their physical beauty standards to up because they can't "make" you into a pretty face . :/15.) Yes and no. They're really nice to the really young kids, but if they don't think you have talent they can be kind of rude. I've heard stories of judges texting or checking their phone while watching contestants (at Global Auditions). Also, they can get kind of mean if they don't think you're following their instructions, But generally they are either nice or neutral. You can sing and dance another star's song, but try and own it as your own. Don't try to mimic the original singer. For live auditions, yes you have to do it acapella. For email auditions it's not required, but it does have to be to an instrumental with no vocals. I suggest acapella as its easier for them to gauge your talent.16.) Yes.17.) Honestly, not good. We all have about the same chance of winning the lottery as we do getting selected to be a trainee :/ Make sure you have! a backup plan like school and good grades!I have a detailed step by st! ep process on my bloghttp://auditionadviceandthoughts.blogspot.com/2012......Show more

Chris Wilczewski: Sm Entertainment Global Audition

Samatha Nicar: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/axyf2To be honest, SMEnt actually says 'of all nationalities' and there's only one reason for that: they want 'Eastern-Asians living in Western countries'. They want Eastern-Asians who can speak English since in the KPOP world, this is a very big plus. Don't you ever wonder why SM Auditions are always held in countries like Australia, Canada and New Zealand even though KPOP is not at all that big there? It's because there's a big population of Asians in those countries respectively. I'm from New Zealand and SM Auditions is coming for the first time ever and I know it's because of the massive number of Koreans currently living here. It's sad to say this but yes, your ethnic background will most likely be considered just like how they consider every sin! gle aspect of you. It's quite true what they say about SM being 80% looks and 20% talent, but it differs. Sometimes they take a pretty good singer with an okay face that they can work with or an okay singer with a pretty face to train, but NEVER a completely immaculate singer but with ugly features. It's really sad but it's reality that they take these things into consideration. Even still, it wouldn't hurt to try out. Just go for the experienxe, and you never know, you could be the first Hispanic-Black KPOP idol ever. :)...Show more

Shaunta Paap: Hello.I'll try to answer you as good as I know for now.1. I can't say it's bad, but still it would be much better if you were Korean. But still if your skin isn't very dark and your face is of korean type, you still can be accepted.2. It depends on what you are auditioning for. If it's dance, yes, you are to send a video, if it's singing, you can send a demo and photos, but preferably a video. And so on. You can sing any son! g and dance any dance you want. If you then audition in live, you will ! dance freestyle with the music SM will choose for you. If it's singing, you still can song the same song. You'd better to know 2 or more, because they can ask you for more. Language is on your choice, but I think it's okay with English or Korean.3. As far as I know, SM doesn't have rounds. This is all the one process. If you get accepted by executives, you'll be asked to come to Korea to audition in live. If they like you, they will have another meeting deciding on if you fit this company. Then, if you're got approved once more, you get another test - professional vocal recording. If you pass, you have a professional photo shoot for them to see your face and body from different angles. Then there's another executive meeting, where they decide if you will get approved. If you are, they ask you and your parents (if you are under majority) to come to SM building for signing the contract. Only after this process you can call yourself an official trainee.4. Yes, you are in that ! age when you still can train for a couple of years to get confident and debut still very young.5. If they approve you, then yes. If you're just applying for Global Audition, then no, as far as I know.6. Wearing make up on audition means you are not confident with your appearance. Please, just be sure your skin is clear and face is fresh enough, but don't put make up on it.7. I can't judge if you're fitting, since I'm not an SM insider. Sorry ^^ But from me, you are pretty!8. of course it's better to audition in live, because SM gets so much audition e-mails every day. But you still have a chance.9. I guess in Korea.10. You still can continue studying, but in Korea. And about the language, you'll be learned Korean.11. Yes, I've written this in your 3rd question.12. Not very often, but you do.13. It can change with time, but a couple of years ago it was 20 dollars per week.14. If you have to loose weight, then you will be on diet, but not strict. SM wants to have healthy trai! nees and then artists ^^ About plastic surgery, I don't know much about! it, but you don't have to do it if you don't want.15. They are not mean. They are professional. About songs, you will sing a'capella. About the dance, you'd better to dance how you feel.16. Yes.17. You have to add some Information about you. You can find an info on the official web-site of SM Entertainment.I really hope you will do this and I hope my answers will help you even a little bit.Anyways try, because if you don't, you can then regret about it....Show more

Joie Libutti: 1) No. SM doesn't accept all Chinese and Korean people that audition. They barely accept anyone.2)No. No. You can if you know one, but if you know that your pronunciation isn't good then don't.3) You go to the place, and wait outside with a bunch of other people. They'll let people in in groups. Once you're inside your have to fil out an application at the front, and return it, and recieve a number, then wait for a long time. They'll call in groups of 10 at a time then you and the other 9 sta! nd near a wall as the first group of 10 finishes. In number order you step forward introduce yourself and start your audition. You keep going until you're either told to stop or until you're done. Then you leave the room and go home, and wait for about a month for an email from them.4) Yes. That's a really good age because SM likes to debut young people and you never know how long you'll be a trainee. Jessica and Tiffany from SNSD were trainees for 7 1/2 years!5) No6) No make up7) I think you're pretty enough, but since I don't work for SM I don't know what they'll think of you.7) They never accept people through emails. Everyone will have to auditin live at some point. There's no way around it.8) They only pick people from live auditions and sometimes they hold contests and get trainees that way. That's how Yuri, and Taeyeon from SNSD got in. That's also how XiuMi from EXO-M got in.9) Korea10) They teach you Korean. You'll go to Kent Foreigner School where all SM trainees ! attend.11) Sometimes people pass after the first round, but most people! to have to go through a second round. The second round is in Korea, and you have to pay for the flight.12) Yes, but only during breaks13) I heard $20 a week, but you'll also be a backdancer, and extra in MV or TV so they obviously have to pay for that.14) You're put on a diet, but the plastic surgery thing is a lie15)The judges don't say anything they basically sit there, and kind of ignore you. You can only do one thing for your audition. Well everyone is going to sing someone elses song (I'm gonna sing Reflection by Christina Agulera), but the dance has to be original (if you choose to dance) since they're going to play the music that they brought, and you have to freestyle. It has to be Acapella and I can see why. 1. They might not be able to hear you over the music because you might be quiet. 2. The music you bring (if you were able to) might not be an instrumental which would kind of be cheating.16) If you choose to dance then yes you do. I heard that sometimes they'l! l play music and you have the option on whether or not you want to dance, but that could be a myth because I didn't experience that.17) VERY SMALL. Henry from Super Junior-M auditioned and over 3,000 people auditioned, but out of all of them only him and one other person passed. You can find what you need to include in your email here: http://www.smtown.com/link/audition...Show more
